Always Working Hard
Its either my website or proofing photos for my amazing customers!
I'm always on the go and making sure everything looks great! My only issue is that I like the change my mind a lot! and will always look to improve what I've done a month ago. Saying this, I've been working hard on my website again, making sure it looks great and placing all the photos on there that represent me that best.
In recent months, I've noticed a larger volume of visits to both my Facebook page and my Website (yay) so to make things look better I need to continue to attach photos and keep everything up to date.

Advertising!
Hello Everyone,
As you may know, the Princess photoshoot went amazing. The girls were great and you can see the photos below of the beautiful princesses.
Enchanted Birthdays/Official Princess Parties first heard about me through a friend that had suggested my talent as a photographer in the Ottawa area. I had no idea this had happened and was unaware that I had influence someone with my photography. Shorty after, I was emailed through my website (to my surprised it worked) and was on the go booking a time with Kristie, owner, to photograph all the princesses.
Kristie rounded up all the girls, one princesses coming in from Montreal for this special photoshoot, and we shipped off to Walter Baker park in Kanata. We had a great time being princesses and capture those poses that are so special to each one.
I finished the photos and was so excited to send them off to Kristie. Not only was I excited, the princesses were as well!

New Opportunities
As I grow as a photographer, I see what is available to me in the future and what kind of success I could have as an individual. As I see more and more, I get excited and can't wait to continue this adventure.
New opportunities arise at different times in your life. You can have an opportunity as a child that could change the course of your life, and not even know it. You learn as you go and see that when an opportunity arises, you question it and see what the best outcome will be. As I started learning what my future opportunities were, I questioned everything, from working two jobs (full time & photography) to if I could even do the photography on my own.
I want to share an opportunity with you that I'm very excited about!
This Sunday, I will be meeting up with 7 beautiful Princess's to take their portraits. These princess's are from Enchanted Birthdays, a local birthday party idea that will make little girls and boys squeal to their hearts content! They have a total of 7 Princess's with the option of also having Spiderman, Batman and more for the boys!
They help with the birthday party plans, the entertainment for the children and also offer other party favors including Spa & Glamor and Tea Time!
I can't wait to photograph these Princess's and be part of this magical moment!

Maternity Photos
Baby belly's are beautiful! You know when you see a woman pregnant all you can do is just stare, knowing there is something so special and precious inside of them. Many woman (and men) will want to touch, feel the baby move & kick and even hear them move around and make noises.
There are also many different reactions to pregnancies ranging from the 'the most beautiful time' to 'the most uncomfortable'. Each woman is different, from the way they carry to their body reactions of having a human life inside their own.
I wanted to give some "Tips & Tricks" on photographing this magical moment of parent hood and to truly capture the belly. I also want to send off some personal feedback from a few fans that have gone through pregnancy once or twice and what some of their best photos & reactions are.

Photographing a pregnant belly can sometimes be difficult. You want to capture
the shape, size and beauty of it. There are many different positions you can display the woman in to enhance the photos as well. You can also bring in a child or the husband/boyfriend to capture sweet moments.
Some favorite photos I've seen is shaping your fingers into a 'heart' and placing that on the belly. Holding the belly in different positions, like under the belly and above the belly just under the breasts. Some woman are more comfortable with their body and can show skin, up to having a light piece of material around their breasts, others prefer to have clothing on. If you wish to have clothing on, wear a light color or a black. These colors enhance the shape of the belly and make for a better photo.
Props add a different and perfect element to maternity photos. Bring in a pair of shoes and place . them on the belly. You can also use letter blocks or a teddy bear.
Play with different angles, different shots and experiment with your comfort zone. You can capture the beauty of anything if you see if for what its meant to be.
Good luck photographing!
"Being pregnant is the most joyous time for me... A special bond was created between me and Abigail that is so wonderful that it brings tears of joy everytime she reaches a new milestone... her first smile... her first laugh... reaching for Mama or Dada... She grows up very fast... I love my baby Abigail so much... " - Celia (c. Abigail)
"I loved being pregnant, never really got any portraits done but I have some funny pictures in my last month:p being pregnant was the best time of my life and the only time I actually felt good about myself" - Karli (c. Nancy)
"When I was pregnant with Corbin I have never had so much self esteem. I always felt gorgeous. Happy and giggly. Of course there are the aches and the pains but then you get those fantastic little jabs and although they're at your belly or lungs they might as well be at your heart. I absolutely love being pregnant. It's an absolutely surreal feeling. Knowing that you are responsible for growing an entire person. It's an amazingly magical experience." - Sasha (c. Corbin)
"I found when I was pregnant, it wasn’t like the books described. I had the weight gain that never went away after the birth, the mood swings and my complexion. Don’t get me wrong, it was awesome when there would be movement and kicks, knowing there was life inside me but I couldn’t wait to get it out. But now, when I look at my two beautiful children, they were worth it. And if everything I endured was part of their creation, then I wouldn't have had it any other way." - Lola (c. Keira & Ethan)
"Personally, I really enjoyed pregnancy. It felt amazing and awe-inspiring to think I was growing and shaping a human being for almost 10 months. Every time from month 5 on when I felt the baby kick it was like I got butterflies in my stomach. And with every false contraction and explosion of joy and expectation until finally the time came to actually deliver. Even through the first 4 months when I had some pretty extreme morning sickness, I couldn't help but smile ALL the time because I just knew what was in my future :) I love being pregnant and can't wait to do it again!" - Amanda (c. Aeris)

WEDDING FEVER
The next couple of months are bringing beautiful moments, colors & people together! Summer is coming to an end and the fall season begins.
Next weekend I will be photographing my first Wedding for a couple I know from many years ago. I can't wait to reunite with them & spend the day with them capturing their special moments as husband & wife.
Then, you will see me again in October where I will be part of a wedding as a bridesmaid.
ITS THAT TIME OF YEAR!!

Your little one is growing up so fast and now they are off to their first day at school! Do you want to capture these moments?
Another first for me! My friend sent me a quick email the other night asking me to do some Back-to-school photos and I couldn't be more happy to. Little D. is off to her first year in school and I'm going to be there to make sure this moment is saved in time. I've watch D grow up from a little baby, see her first birthday and I will now see her off to her first time to school! I can't wait to capture these moments for her & the family.
Don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions!

Animals of Our Lives
Animals are another love of my life. Particularity, I have a fondness and soft spot for cats. My whole life I've lived around and loved animals of all sizes. If your an animal lover like me, you will enjoy the next set of photos I've posted. The first two cats are of my own and have beautiful personalities that offer great moments to capture. You will also see a feline that has a tendency to be aware of his surroundings all the time which gave me great opportunities to capture his amazing eyes. Last but not least is my fathers dog whom has a tendency to roll in the snow and the ripe age of 11.
Young in spirit!

Kristy + Matt Engagement
July 10 began as a beautiful day in the park! Kristy & Matt picked the beautiful Andrew Haydon Park for their engagement photo background. I had never been there before so it was a new experience for me and my camera. We took a stroll around the park and found some great places to capture their moments. Congratulations to Kristy & Matt and their engagement. I hope your lives together are full & wonderful.

Sam + Adam Engagement
On July 6, Sam + Adam took the trip with me out to Manotick to take some beautiful photos for their engagement. The day was one during the heatwave the Ottawa area so our adventure was a hot one! We got some great shots and the time together was worth it! Congratulations to both of them on their new life ahead of them.

Tonight's The Night
How was everyone's warm evening? A night spent watching Cake Boss all night with the two best people in the world makes for a nice evening ... minus the HOT temperature. Unfortunately my sister's place does not have central air so we depended on fans.
TONIGHT'S THE NIGHT
Tonight I'm out for an adventure with Sam & Adam photographing their momentous engagement. It will be fun to see what I come up with and the creative side of my photography. My 'second hand' is not in the country, but in the Dominican lounging on a beach somewhere with a drink in her hand, so I'm on my own for this one! I'm looking forward to what my camera holds.
TAKING IT BACK
As I build up my experience and start some new adventures, I'm learning my niche with the photography but still am looking to keep opening doors. I've done a few events, my maternity shots I feel are my favorite, as well as outdoor portraits. I feel that natural light and the beauty of nature brings out the best in the subject and the camera!
WHAT TO LOOK FORWARD TO
With some photo sessions coming soon and exciting new experiences, I will also be posting my own 'Techniques' to help any new photographers have some extra help. I know I'm very new to photography, but I'm thinking as I learn, you can learn as well.
Hope everyone has an enjoyable (hot) day!

A Hot Week Ahead
THE WEATHER REPORT
Its amazing that they don't just call Ontario, Arizona! It feels like the desert out here, not like Canada. The number is climbing as the day moves on, currently 33 degrees and feeling like 44 degrees with the UV index being 10. Ouch! I just can't believe it ....
A BUSY WEEK AHEAD
Even with these crazy temperatures, I have the great opportunity to make my way out with the camera and

Tuesday I will be taking the time to capture a beautiful moment for Sam & Adam as they celebrate their engagement. Thursday I will be kicking up my soccer enthusiasm and going to the World Cup Celebration brought to you by an Event Management group from Algonquin College. They are hosting this event for the Children's Wish Foundation and I encourage EVERYONE to join! Some well know Ottawa celebrities will be in the audience, Max Keeping to be one.
This weekend I will be out and about for another engagement session with Kristy & Matt. I will also be looking forward to a family portrait session at Andrew Hayden Park with Krista and her family, winners of the 2-hr photo session auctioned off at the Coyote's Go Wild event last month.
WHAT TO LOOK FORWARD TO
I know a few of you have been waiting to see some past event work I've been doing. I'm sorry to keep you waiting for I won't post too many photos until the owners receive their packages. Last month was very busy and the families have not received any photos yet from their events. Sit tight though, they are coming soon!
Also, I have a maternity and newborn sessions coming up soon so keep a look out for some up and coming photographs.
Stay cool & hydrated!
Yours truly,
A. McEvoy
